1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS

Viper Green (Code 225) · Chassis 911 360 0782 · Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Story

I was sixteen when I saw my first Carrera RS at a gas station outside Traverse City, and I never really recovered. It took me thirty years, three near-misses, and one very patient wife to finally find a matching-numbers chassis I could afford.

When it arrived it hadn’t run since 1991. Every weekend for three years went into it — the engine went to a specialist, but every nut and bolt on that chassis passed through my hands. The first cold start nearly brought me to tears. My wife says it did.
