About Garage Chronicle

Every car has a story. This is where it lives.

Garage Chronicle is a permanent, story-first home for collector cars. It is not a marketplace and not a listings site. It is a place to tell the story of a car — how you found it, what it means, the people and miles behind it — and to keep that story attached to the car for good.

From the founder

Garage Chronicle started with a worry. I’ve loved cars my whole life. Right now, with two young boys at home, I don’t have the time or the garage space for a classic of my own — but the passion is as high as it’s ever been.

What I keep coming back to is this: the people who built, chased, and cared for these cars have incredible stories, and most of them never get written down. When a car changes hands, the story usually disappears with it. I worry the next generation won’t get to know what this world was — the effort, the obsession, the stories behind the enthusiast era. So I built a place to keep them.

Why it exists

A collector car is more than a spec sheet. It carries a history: the person who ordered it, the shop that saved it, the road trip nobody forgot. But those stories usually live in a shoebox of receipts or a single owner’s memory, and they vanish the moment the car changes hands. We think that’s a loss worth fixing.

So we built the platform around the car itself, not the owner. Each vehicle is the permanent record; owners are its caretakers, adding to the story during their time with it. When the car moves on, the history stays — richer for every caretaker who added to it.

There’s something nice in that, too: a well-loved car quietly connects the people who’ve cared for it — the pride you feel now is probably the same pride someone felt before you. But you don’t have to think about any of that to enjoy it. Just tell the story of your time with the car. That’s the whole point, and it’s a good one.

Who’s behind it

Garage Chronicle is independent and enthusiast-built — made by someone who’d rather read the story behind a barn-find than scroll another auction listing. It’s small on purpose: we answer our own email, and we’re building this because we wanted it to exist.

Your content is yours

The photos and stories you publish belong to you. You can edit or remove them at any time, and you decide who sees each car — public in the registry, unlisted (reachable only by a link you share), or private to your own garage. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads that follow you around.

We built this to last. The goal is to be the lasting record for the cars on it — not a page that disappears when a trend does. A full “export everything” tool is on the way; in the meantime, your content is never locked away, and you can reach us any time to get a copy.

A note on privacy

Location is optional and only ever region-level — never your street address. Sale status is opt-in, and offer inquiries reach you privately; your email is never shown publicly. If you mark a car private, it’s hidden from the registry, search, and your public garage. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.
