1934 Dodge Pickup

Battle Creek, MI

The Story

I bought this truck back in 1958 when I was still in high school. When I got it, it had a 303 Olds engine and a three-speed LaSalle transmission. I raced it with a small-block Chevy for years, but in 1973, I put the blown 392 Hemi in it. On a 100-inch wheelbase, its best E.T. was 8.93 seconds at 157 mph.

We ran it at Milan, Martin, Kaleva, and dragstrips all over the tri-state area. It went undefeated at Onondaga Raceway and even set a track record at Luskville Raceway up in Quebec.
