The Story
When we bought the car it had already picked up several non-original components along the way. Rather than hunt down correct parts and put it back to standard, we went the other direction and built it into a racier custom — blue 16-inch wheels on 205 tires, an RS-style ducktail spoiler, a roll bar, and custom door panels and carpet.
What we left alone is what matters underneath. It still has its original engine, the Bosch mechanical fuel injection, the 5-speed transmission, and its original color.
The E stands for Einspritzung — injected. In 1973 Porsche built the 911 in three states of tune: the S at 190 horsepower, the T at 135, and this one in the middle at 165. It's a long-wheelbase car, and one of the last before the impact bumpers arrived in 1974.
