The Story
The dull, weathered paint on the frame of the 1971 Honda CT70 was in terrible shape when I first got it. For me, that was the draw. These little trail bikes have a permanent place in my heart because they are so simple to work on, and restoring this one became a quiet exercise in patience as I cleaned and polished the faded metal back to a bright, deep shine. It was a remarkably intact survivor, still wearing most of its original parts, including the cool, factory rear luggage rack.
In my garage, space is at a premium. You do not need a massive footprint to house a CT70, which makes it easy to store one and still feel the distinct pride of keeping a genuine collectible. They are incredibly fun to ride, and they hold their value well, but my joy comes from the resurrection itself.
Once the Honda was gleaming and running as it should, I decided to sell it. Bringing these machines back to life for others to ride and enjoy is far more rewarding than letting them sit idle in the dark.
