1957 Chevrolet Corvette

The Story

I always wanted a 1957 Corvette, and I hunted for many years to find one in this color. This was the first year they started coming out with four-speeds. I finally found this car in 1999 through an ad in the Detroit News. It was originally a California car, and then it had gone up to Canada before I bought it.

Once I got it home, I started working on the suspension, and one thing just led to another. It turned into a 15-year restoration. I did most of the work myself, including all of the bodywork and the gel coat. It took a year and a few months just to get it painted.

Now, every nut and bolt is original. It went through NCRS judging and scored 97.8 points.
